This kit is a magnetically attached single lever paddle based on our popular paddles for the Elecraft KX series transceivers. It is an excellent option for your homemade transceivers, as the small design allows the paddle to be attached and easily moved to various radios and removed for storage or transportation. The paddle design is 2.0″w x .62″h x 1.75″d and is attached with strong Neodymium magnets to any flat surface. Electrical connection is made by a user supplied common 3.5mm stereo cable. The paddle design allows positioning the interconnecting 3.5mm jack on the right or left side of the paddle. There are jumper pads for the 3.5mm tip/ring connection to be reversed, to match your transceiver requirements. We supply enough magnets for the paddle and two radios, with additional magnets available.
The paddle is a single lever design with a stainless steel lever and contact hardware. The assembled weight is less than 1/2 oz. (16gm). All hardware is included. The tools required are a soldering iron with a small tip, rosin core solder, #1 Phillips screwdriver, needle nose pliers, tweezers for the hardware, some common epoxy adhesive for the magnet mounting, and a flat surface to work on. Allow an hour or so to build. The assembly hardware is small, so on a difficulty scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the most difficult, this is rated at 3-4.
