QRPBuilder Iambic Piano Mini Paddle – $25
We will also be at Dayton FDIM vendor night, Thursday May 18, with all the kits available.
The Iambic Piano Mini Paddle was borne out of a request from a ham with severe arthritis that had difficulty using the standard horizontal mounted iambic paddle levers. She asked if we could design an inexpensive device with side by side, vertical activated paddle levers. We agreed, and this is the result. It is easy to assemble and uses the same stainless steel contact components as our other paddles. It’s is jumper selectable for dit and dah on either finger, with pcb standard 3.5mm female socket connection to your transceiver, or a user supplied cable with the supplied 3.5mm plug. It is stable as assembled or easily mounted on a heavier base.
The assembled weight is less than 1/2 oz. (13.7 gm). All hardware is included. The tools required are a soldering iron with a small tip, rosin core solder, #1 Phillips screwdriver, needle nose pliers, tweezers for the hardware, and a flat surface to work on. Allow an hour or so to build. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the most difficult, this is rated at 2.
